Q: How many entries can I submit?
There is no limit on the number of entries you can submit, and you can submit a design product or project into multiple categories. However, if you are submitting a product or project into multiple award categories, you must complete a separate registration and pay the entry fee for each entry into each category. For example, you can submit Product A into both the Product Design and the Packaging Design categories, and you would need to complete a separate form and pay a separate entry fee for each submission.
Q: What is the fee per entry?
You need to pay a fee of NTD 1000 (USD 35) per entry. There are no additional fees if your entry wins an award or for promotional services.
Q: Do I have to submit my physical design (product or project) to the Golden Pin Design Award at any stage of the award process?
You do not have to submit the physical design at the entry or preliminary selection stage of the competition. However, if your entry progresses through to the secondary selection stage of the competition, you will be required to send the physical design in to the award authority. If your entry is a large scale product or project that cannot be delivered to the selection venue, then you will need to submit a short video introduction of the design to the award authority. Both the physical products/projects and the videos will be used by the Golden Pin Design Award jury members when they are assessing the designs.
Q: Do I have to fill out both the English and the Chinese information sections in the online registration system?
Yes, it is crucial that you complete both the English and the Chinese information sections in the online registration system. This information is used by our jury members during the judging process and by our bilingual communications team for promotional purposes.
Q: What is the submission process?
1. Enter your entry information into the online registration system.
2. Before you can successfully complete online registration, you must give your consent to the declarations and the letter of authorization.
3. If you need to make changes to your registration information, you can log back into the online registration system using your email address and the password provided to you in the confirmation email.
4. The entry fee needs to be paid before July 3, 2017. Once you have made payment, you need to send an email to the award authority, which should include your remittance receipt/s and your registration number.
Q: Will the Golden Pin Design Award return my physical design (product or project)?
Yes, you can retrieve your physical design/s when notified by the award authority.
Q: What are the benefits of winning a Golden Pin Design Award Design Mark or Best Design trophy?
Entered products and projects are assessed in three stages by an expert international jury. Second selection stage winners (Golden Pin Design Mark winners) receive a Golden Pin Design Mark–an indicator of innovation that they can use to market their product or design project. Of these winners, just 15 to 20 will be selected to receive a coveted Best of Golden Pin Design Award trophy, which will be presented to the recipients at an award ceremony in Taipei, Taiwan. Through the media relations and event organisation efforts of the Golden Pin team, all winners have the chance to benefit from increased brand exposure through online and print press coverage, social media promotion, and representation in local and overseas design expos, exhibitions, and fairs.
