The visual space design splits the Chinese character of ‘tea’ into ‘艹人木’ (grass, people, wood), and draws circles centered from the character ‘人’ (people), binding the other two parts of the character ‘艹, 木’ (grass, wood).

17.6 m2 Apartment might be an extreme project we have ever designed but these tiny living units are widely existing in many cities. We wish the attempt of design could not only inspire people living in a small living space but also arouse the attention and discussion about what a reasonable living unit should be and help the improvement of this living type.
In the unlimited space, enlarge the spacious and bright sense of space with white tone. In this minimal design, giving the residents more imaginations of the fantasy kingdom called “freedom”.
Strolling in a circle, or circumambulation is the main concept of this residential design.
The design uses the original layout of beams and columns and adds some arcs on the currently-existing level and vertical contractual axes to serve as the vanishing point. We try to enrich the visual experience with subtraction via minimum decoration.
The rich texture of the concrete coating comes from the temperature of the texture. Combining that with the right proportion of the control of color sense and volume, the space comes to life.
