“Cut Space” creates the interactivity between the audience and the installation. We built an installation space (6m x 6m) consisting of 6,300 hung strings equally spaced, and then gave each participant a pair of scissors. The strings in a way became the structural material that participants could cut out any length to create the space. Over time, as people shaped their spaces, the fallen strings accumulated on the ground forming loose “furniture.”
