The Children’s Art Education Center employs the architectural vocabulary of a “paperclip.” Within the existing spatial framework of TFAM – an interlocking matrix of solid strips and empty “white box” spaces – the new center forms an unbroken ribbon, shaped like an “open paperclip,” transforming what were originally independent areas into an open, continuous space accommodating a diversity of forms and allowing flexible use.

The play of light at different times of day creates a differing interpretation of reality, and the light and shadow intertwine to form a beautiful “symphony”; the contrast between the golden rays of light passing through the installation and the lines formed by the bamboo structural material seem to create a sense of epochal temporality that emphasizes that dialogue between the materials.
