The bustling covered passages, rough-surfaced concrete walls, and the various rising and falling shapes converge the focal points through the underside lighting. The underlying pulsation seem to suggest a force waiting to burst out onto the scene.

Designed by the world’s renowned interior designer, Tony Chi, Bencotto has an array of eclectic dining spaces, each coursing with rustic elegance and channeling the relaxing classic Renaissance charm of Rome’s Antico Caffe Grecco.
Spatial vocabulary for this project comprises two types of concept: “Cultural intersection” and “Crisscross of the lines that are both virtual and real”. Spatial structure is displayed via pen, ink, paper and inkstone, the so called four treasures, symbolizing in addition to the series of abstract space, superbly showcasing the humanities styles unique to Chinese.
The fusion of oriental and western elements is uniquely for the purpose finding the only one. The pioneering art summit concepts collide with modernity and oldness, and communicate with oriental and western spirit. The condensation of fashion and low-key extravagance creates the unique connotation.
Essence of the design does not rest at the strength stemmed from the size of the space nor the magnitude; instead, it focuses on the injection with details comprising extreme delicate lights and shadows, the slicing, the lines, variations of the building materials intermingling both the building and the space and person inside.
The structure was inspired by nature and its outside resembles a weaving consisting of fabric or rattan transforming into isometric protective structures to soften the stiffness of architecture and create skylights.
Inspirations and influences: Taiwan has been a melting pot for various cultures including Dutch, Spanish, Japanese,Chinese culture as well as the indigenous one of Taiwan. Meanwhile, Taiwan is also one component of the main high-tech production chain in the whole world where the most advanced technology is operated.
