As designers, we often use head worn protective gear such as eye protection, respirators and ear muffs during our course of work. We would often talk about the pains of these equipment used in conjunction with prescription glasses, which is made worse with multiple straps, anchor points and pressure points.
After our research, we realized that this not only caused discomfort, but a drop in productivity in work due to having to remove the uncomfortable equipment frequently. The unyielding equipment also posed a safety hazard if the user needed to remove or wear them quickly as it was impossible to do so.
Salus is designed to be a modular, streamlined and ergonomic head worn protection system that provides maximum comfort and protection to enhance the work experience. Salus is a 3 piece set consisting of ear, eyes and respiratory protection, all of which can be easily attached or detached from the center mounting head piece. The head piece itself allows room for prescription eye wear as well being fully adjustable. Each safety part can be mounted quickly and individually, and can be replaced if damaged.
Salus is a new way of looking at purpose built safety equipment.
