Shu Xiu (Dried Meat) Collection
“Xiu” means dried meat. Ten pieces of dried meat compose a bunch, which is called “Shu Xiu” in Chinese. It is a gift in the ancient time.
Chaper VII, Shu R, of Confucian Analects: “I’ll teach the students even though they only bring a bunch of dried meat (Shu Xiu) to me as a gift.”
Afterwards, the gift students bring to their teachers or the tuition is called Shu Xiu.
In terms of the design concept, the earth colors of the library and academic style are adopted to serve as the main visual color tones. The inscriptions on the wooden boards in the early time are also part of the design concept. It is to extend the ancient people’s wisdom and inheritance. The idea of the ancient books is used to create the style of the wooden volume. The creative design features the wooden texture as well as the collected volumes of books.
