Questions about the Golden Pin Design Award
Participating entries must be commercial products, and the entrants must be business entities or design teams.
There is no limit on the number of entries that can be submitted to the Golden Pin Design Award. The same product may be entered in more than one category.
For example, Product A can simultaneously be entered in the Product Design Category and the Communication Design Category, although separate registration documents and registration fees must be submitted for each category.
Only entries which will be put into commercial production before December 31 of the year of the award are eligible to be entered.
The Golden Pin Design Award is given to mass-produced designs already on the market, while the Golden Pin Concept Design Award is for conceptual designs that have yet to be produced/sold on the market, non-commissioned conceptual design projects, and unimplemented conceptual design proposals.

Works by students, designers, or design companies from any country are eligible.

On the other hand, the Golden Pin Design Award is for works that have been manufactured or marketed or client proposals that have been executed.
There are no restrictions on the number of entries, and participants can use the same work to compete in different categories simultaneously.
For example, a participant may use a single work to compete in both the Product Design and the Communication Design categories as long as two separate introductions are submitted.
All works that have yet to be manufactured or marketed by December 31st of the current year are eligible (products may only be shipped after January 1st of the following year).
Is the key visual or the curatorial plan of a graduation exhibition eligible for the Golden Pin Concept Design Award?

Are publications (such as books, newspapers, magazines, etc.) that have been put up for sale at my graduation exhibition eligible?

Although there are fields for both Chinese and the English entry descriptions in the application system, can I choose to fill out only the Chinese version?
The Golden Pin Concept Design Award will invite acclaimed experts in the field of design both from Taiwan and abroad to serve as the jury, and will also arrange exhibitions overseas for winning entries. Therefore, it is important to introduce the entry in proper English, and all participants should complete an English description of their entry.
In terms of the design description included in the application, is there a restriction on the number of words or anything else that participants should be aware of?
An entry description should not contain more than 200 Chinese words or 1,200 English characters. Please do not write in bullet points, and please use punctuation for readability.
Yes, but it is recommended that you upload image(s) that can fully demonstrate the features of an entry; at least 1 image of your entry is required.
Yes, but it is recommended that the collage focuses on demonstrating the features of the entry and reduces the need for written description.
If your focus is the overall visual image of the work, then it can be listed as a single entry, but if you would like to emphasize the appearance and function of individual parts/works, it is recommended that you list them separately. In the latter case, please fill out separate applications for each of the works.
You may use its total combined dimensions (the space the whole series occupies).
Although there are no restrictions in general, due to limited space on the trophy and certificate, please do not put more than 9 names for an entry. If there are more than 9 individuals, it is recommended that you use a group name instead.
It is free to apply for the Golden Pin Concept Design Award. For works that have reached the market or client proposals that have been executed, please apply for the Golden Pin Design Award and notify the Golden Pin Concept Design Award team at firstname.lastname@example.org so that they can delete the application from the system.
About Selection Process and Awards
How will I know if my entry receives an award? Will I be notified if my entry is selected for the next round?
The result of every round will be posted on the official website, but due to the huge number of entries, we will only notify those who advance to the next round.
You do not need to submit the work itself for the preliminary or secondary selection, but you will be required to submit it for the final selection if your work passes secondary selection and is awarded the Golden Pin Concept Design Mark.
If your work is too large and cannot be physically transported to the selection, please notify the Golden Pin Concept Design Award team of the situation by uploading an entry video (not exceeding 180 seconds) when filling out the application, and doing so once again before the final selection. Upon approval by the committee, the entry will be eligible to participate in the final selection in video format.
The Golden Pin Concept Design Award team will use final selection entries for exhibition and promotional purposes, and therefore participants will not be able to retrieve their works for a period of 6 months after the final selection. The team will notify participants when it is time to retrieve their entries; all expenses (such as transportation costs) are to be paid by the participants.
There will be a combined awards ceremony for both the Golden Pin Concept Design Award and the Golden Pin Design Award at the end of the year. The recipients of the Best of Golden Pin Concept Design Award will be announced at the ceremony (please check the official website for schedule details).
Winning entries will receive a certificate, and entries awarded the Best of Golden Pin Concept Design Award will receive both a certificate and a trophy. These are all free of charge.
The designers of the winning entries will be granted the right to use the Golden Pin Concept Design Mark, and to participate in an exclusive training course that will help enhance their communication skills. In addition, these works will be showcased at the Golden Pin Design Award’s Winners’ Exhibition, where they will be promoted on a global scale through Golden Pin media partners.
The benefits for winning entries, such as being listed in the Golden Pin Design Award Yearbook and included in the online exhibition on the Golden Pin Design Award’s official website, are all free of charge.
