"The Documentary Film Book" is an important guide edited by renowned British scholar Brian Winston, covering articles from global experts and scholars. It explores the history, future, production overview, and contributions of documentaries in interdisciplinary studies and the arts.

The cover design features geometric blocks deconstructing, overlapping, and assembling the abbreviation "DOC" for documentary, creating an open space that symbolizes the diverse perspectives and freedom of documentaries.

However, the binding design adopts a naked-spine thread binding method to preserve the practicality and readability of the book as a textbook. This allows the pages to be fully spread out, while the cover is made of a moderately soft and hard material for easy handheld reading. The thread used for the binding matches the fluorescent green color of the cover and interior pages, creating visual unity.

For the interior design, chapter titles on the sides of the pages are arranged in a non-linear manner. When viewed from the book's edge, these titles appear as flowing lines, echoing the fluidity of time in documentaries. Additionally, random gradient lines are used at the beginning and end of each article to evoke the traces of time.

Overall, the design balances conveying documentary characteristics with practicality and a friendly reading experience.
