InOrder Studio (IOS) is an interior design firm founded in 2023, located in West District of Taichung. Their design value focuses on the connection between details in daily life and the essence of structure, from where derive the order and the form of space.
.
Newly founded design firms all share the same question—“How to execute concept with limited resources?” Fortunately, at the place IOS rented as their office, many pine plywood shelves and glass partition walls were already there from the previous tenant, which reduced the cost for refurbishment. Besides, the founder Mr. Chen found Ikea table legs from 6 years ago, and two vintage white milk glass shades from the garage of his family home in Nantou. His previous employer also sponsored several split plywoods.
.
Elements in a design studio office tend to be scattered. IOS firstly sorted all the functions out—hub, cable trough and entry, computer rack, hooks, tissue boxes, etc. These functions were all solved in one office table module, while the open shelf modules are defined by piles of A4 & A3 drawing sheets.
.
The atmosphere in the design studio office can be enthusiastic and calm at the same time—an ongoing meeting, colleagues on their breaks, discussions—Two curtains separate different activities, with thickness for the right amount of see-through, dividing but not enclosing.
.
The design studio office is nostalgic but not refusing new elements—Walnut brown carpet and pecan wood flooring to pair with the inherited pine plywoods, sage green tabletops to pair with emerald green curtains. Things in the office is scattered and complicated, but collected in order. This is where InOrder Studio starts.
