Taipei Shezi issue has been placed for over 40 years, and the turning point is recently being stopped again because of profit problems. As an architectural worker, we hope to present a project to help Shezi move forward.
Since the layout and adaption of Shezi land use are still indeterminate, a public library across the river may be an innovative solution.
The construction combines bridge and building spaces together, building two steel arch bridges, and have the floors hang between the structures. The arch structures provide sufficient bear loading, as a result, landscaping and farming are allowed to be taken action on the roof area.
Timber and steel are priority to be used for the construction for light weight and sustainable concern. Clear glass is provided for the North façade to gain the natural light, and vertical green walls are equipped at the South for heat insulation to reduce energy consumption.
The library provides multi-function spaces to citizens for discussing, listening and respecting actives.
By filling with energetic and innovative ideas, designer believes the issue of Shezi, which has been pending for 40 years, will finally be solved by citizens.
