Starting in 2023, Taiwan will launch the system of citizen participation in trials (Citizen Judge Act), allowing citizens to participate in criminal procedures; thus, courthouses will become important service sites demonstrating the outcomes of the judicial reform. The court service will directly affect whether people can fully trust the new policy. This project adopts the perspective of service design to improve the original trial mechanism and launch partial renovations inside the courthouse.
